Our Commitments:
We at Eco-friendly
Trekking owe our existence to the power of the natural world to humble us, to
challenge us, to ground us and to free us. We also could not exist if not for
those bold individuals who cross political and cultural lines to understand the
unfamiliar. Out of respect for these facts, Eco-friendly is committed to
donating a portion of our proceeds to organizations that preserve and protect
our natural heritage, and to groups that promote intercultural understanding and
peace. Our participants may vote on which organizations our funds should go
toward, and they may suggest new beneficiaries. Please feel free to
contact us
with questions or suggestions.
To be a responsible tour an operator, we have
following commitments for environment, highland porters, local community,
safety, health, comfort and accommodation:
Environment
Every Eco-friendly Trekking trip uses low impact trekking methods to reduce our
impact on the fragile environment around trekking routes. Eco-friendly Trekking
has been on the cutting edge of Nepal's environmental awareness movement. Eco-friendly
Trekking helped sponsor and organized different activities such as
rubbish collection from trekking routes, rubbish
collection and properly dump from
base camp of Himalayas
and tree plantation around different
Himalayan trekking
destinations every year.
Highland porters
Eco-friendly Trekking has always been concerned about
High Land Porters' safety and Job Security. While many companies have thrown away
their seasonal employee after they become disable in some mountain mishap, Eco-friendly
Trekking look after their family,
kids' education
and guarantees their fundamental needs through Porters fund from
Eco-friendly Nepal a Non profit making social organization
of the state. Interested trekkers and mountaineers are requested to help to rise
fund for disable porters starting by
Eco-friendly Nepal.
Local community
Eco-friendly Trekking is a Nepali owned and operated company that knows the importance
giving back to the mountain communities of Nepal. Which is why we started the program
for Schools and Children in Nepal. It is a program designed to help build maintenance
schools in the villages of Nepal. So we are going to rebuild fully or particially
under Eco-friendly Nepal a non - profit making social
organization. We are also donating a percentage of company's net profits to community
projects aimed at helping those in needs.
Safety
All of our treks are led by
qualified guides who
have been trained in
first aid, basic or advanced
mountaineering skills, environment and various other related subject matters. We
pay extra attention to all health concerns such as water and foods. We are a member
of the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP), Himalayan Rescue Association
(HRA), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) as well as Trekking Agents Association
of Nepal (TAAN).
Health & Comfort
We pay attentions to your level of
physical fitness and your appetite for endurance
and adventure, and plan your itinerary accordingly. If you are part of a group,
we do our best to ensure that you are neither over stretched nor held back by incompatible
companions. Further more, we use high quality
trekking
and mountaineering equipment for your adventure tour security.
Accommodation
Both in the cities and outlying areas, we have long- standing relationships with
the owners and managements of Nepal's network of hotels and inns, and can arrange
excellent accommodation at advantageous tariffs, from simple
accommodation in remote
trekking
villages to
