The Lunana trek can be combined
with the Chomolhari trek to become the Snowman trek, a long and demanding trek
taking three weeks. This trek is considered to be one of the most difficult in
the Himalayas. It covers the distance of 356 kilometers (221 miles), crosses
eight passes, several of which are over 5,000 meters (16,400 feet), and stays at
an average altitude of 4,000 meters (13,000 feet). Connecting three of the most
remote and high valleys along the northern border of Bhutan parts of which can
cut off from the rest of the world for six months of year. This trek is best
done in April-May and September-October.
Bhutan for a long time the "Forbidden Kingdom", still limits
the number of tourists visiting the country, To protect the cultural heritage
and preservation of natural wealth and beauty is still the number one priority
of the country. The snowman trek is considered to be the most challenging trek
and of the longest duration in Bhutan. This trek provides an in depth look of
the unspoiled and old traditional lifestyle of the Bhutanese; not only the
grandiose mountain views and alleys of the Himalayan region but also the
lifestyle of the mountain people living in harmony with nature and gods. The
trekking is 21 days long ranging between the altitude of 3000M to 5000m. For the
snowman trek one must be in top physical condition to be able to walk between
8-10 hours at 3000-5000 m altitude. Flexibility and patiente is required at
times especially when one confronts logistic problems arising with yaks and
horses . While on trek one is expected not to distributed sweets, pen/pencil etc
to children and villagers also.

Day 03: Thimphu–Punakha/Tashithang
Day 04: Tashithang–Damji (5/6 hours)
Day 05: Damji–Gasa (6/7 hours)
Day 06: Gasa–Chamsa (6/7 hours)
Day 07: Chamsa–Laya (8/9 hours)
Day 08: Rest Day at Laya
Day 09: Laya–Rhodophu (8/9 hours)
Day 10: Rhodophu–Tarina (10/11 hours)
Day 11: Tarina–Woche (6/7 hours)
Day 12: Woche–Lhedi
Day 13: Lhedi–Thanza (7/8 hours)
Day 14: Rest Day at Tanza
Day 15: Tanza–Tsorim (8/9 hours)
Day 16: Tsorim–Gangkar Puensum Base Camp (6/7 hours)
Day 17: Rest day at the camp
Day 18: Gangkar Puensum Base Camp-Geshe Woma (6/7 hours)
